550-series compatibility: DYMO states that LabelWriter 550-series printers work with authentic DYMO LW labels and use Automatic Label Recognition. Do not assume a third-party roll made for an older LabelWriter will work in a 550, 550 Turbo or 5XL.
Older LabelWriter families
Third-party suppliers sell compatible rolls for many older LabelWriter models, including common 450-family and 4XL use cases. Confirm the supplier’s stated model support and exact dimensions before ordering.
Why the reference number helps
Numbers such as 30252, 30256 and 1744907 make it easier to compare like-for-like formats, but printer compatibility still comes first.
