How to Measure Thermal Labels Correctly

Measure the individual label face, not the outer diameter of the roll.

Width and length

Record both dimensions in the same orientation used by the supplier. If you are replacing an existing roll, also note the printer model and any reference number printed on the packaging or core.

Do not rely on “looks close”

Small dimensional differences can affect layout, feed behavior and whether a label is appropriate for the intended job.
